Happy Actual Birthday, Sorry

Sorry. I accidentally clicked "Publish" just before midnight here on the West Coast, so the post date is not what was intended.

I'd like to wish you a happy birthday on your actual birthday, and many happy returns. Try very hard not to think about being overthrown by the Trump administration. (I don't have his ear, but some of his chaps read my stuff.)

I might bake a cake in your honor today and then take it to the Food Bank so somebody here may think well of you.

Birthday Wish for 2019: Regime Change by Trump in Bahrain?

I might have hinted that my birthday wish for you this year, as in some past years, is that you abdicate. I'm feeling it again this year.

Of course that wish is for the event to be peaceful, with your considered consent and with the best possible outcome for Bahrain.

That outcome does not include the presence on the islands of the military and forces sent by your good friends and in-laws in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. As long as those thugs control Bahrain, there's no chance of peace. I wrote about this a couple years ago so, rather than rewrite in different words, the link to that post is below. 

I'd only change it a bit, anyway. Now I'd suggest to President Trump that the path to his much-desired Nobel Prize lies not in North Korea, but in bringing true representative leadership to the tiniest Arab country in the Persian Gulf, Bahrain. It could be a fine example in the neighborhood. It won't take long. Hell, it wouldn't take a hot breath for Trump to open your jails and appoint an acting president of the Republic of Bahrain, which the U.S. can recognize instead of your self-created monarchy. It could serve as Trump's Grenada.

You could still move your whole gang to Nadj, live the good life there, build same-size villas for all your wives, chase around the desert and then the Pakistani woodlands for bustards with your Jeeps and peregrines. 

Golly, I could even bake you a cake, freeze it and ship it to you every year for your birthday in Nadj. It's the least I could do after advocating your peaceful abdication as an aid to Trump getting the same award that Obama got and did not deserve. It would be good for you and the Nobel very good for Trump.

Abdications

Coincidences. PBS is rerunning a program about spying on the royals, tonight about King Edward VIII and Wallis Simpson. It jogged my memory about the date of an event in 1972.

I remembered that Edward died right around the time you were completing a program at the Command and General Staff School in Ft. Leavenworth. At the graduation dinner with the late Paul R. and others, we talked about abdicating the throne for love of a woman. Do you remember that conversation?

You may recall that in the birthday letters several years in a row (but not last year) I've recommended that you abdicate. Other than 1965, 1966 and 1972 recommendations that you abdicate for love of a woman, me, those suggestions were unrelated to my heart. Maybe this year would be a good time for you to really do it.

I was recently asked if you have any filters. Nope, not any more. You are now and have been for a long time led around by a brass ring in your nose pulled by Uncle Khalifa and the Khawalids, and now Bonesaw's got you by the short and curlies. 

(I'm discounting that President Trump is being led around by a brass ring in his nose by John Bolton, except Bahrain is a sand spit and U.S. rules the world. Trump is a corrupt, whining ninny.)
